Operations Analyst
The role
Join Fygge in building the revolutionary AI-enabled investing app that adapts to you. Built around your values, your goals and the way you think about money, we offer a first-of-its-kind investing experience tailored specifically to you.
We are underpinned by a simple theory of change and building towards just that: we believe that if you Understand what your money is doing, and you Align it with what you care most about, you can Achieve your financial goals, and Contribute to a brighter future for all. There is nothing more powerful than an idea that has met its time, and we think the era of the empowered retail investor is here. We need your help to unlock that power.
As one of our first hires, you will sit between our customers, the investment platform that holds their money, and the regulated areas of the business. Your job will be varied, but at its heart, you will be working closely with the founding team to build an operation that customers and our regulators can trust, as we work together to deliver a world-class investing app.
Your central focus will be the operation itself: onboarding and identity checks, payments and the daily reconciliation, complaints and vulnerable customers, our suppliers, and the records a regulated firm has to keep. One week you might design what happens when a customer’s identity check fails, the next you might trace why our records and the platform’s disagree about a customer’s holdings, or build the reports our principal firm reviews.
We are a small but growing team. At our core, we believe we have a responsibility to be optimistic for the future, and we are building something to realise exactly that. Our business and the investing we facilitate speak to the ancient Christian values of stewardship, wisdom, human dignity, responsibility and the common good. We want to re-enchant what it means to invest and tell the sort of story that gets you out of bed in the morning, charged by the day ahead.
What you’ll do
- Write the operating procedures for launch: onboarding and identity-check exceptions, payments and failed collections, withdrawals and transfers, complaints and vulnerable customers.
- Run the daily reconciliation between Fygge’s records and the investment platform’s, and follow every difference through to an answer.
- Build the management information a regulated firm needs, from Consumer Duty outcome measures to the records our principal firm reviews.
- Keep the registers: financial promotions, complaints, vulnerable customers, incidents and suppliers.
- Oversee our suppliers: their service levels, their incidents, and the evidence that each one does what its contract says.
- Make the ISA rules work in practice, from allowance checks to the changes that take effect in April 2027.
- Test the operational side of what gets built, so the admin tools, alerts and reports work before the first customer needs them.
- Help shape the customer support team we’ll build next.
What you’ll bring
- You’ve worked in operations at a fintech, bank, investment platform, wealth manager or another regulated firm, and you know what it takes for a customer’s money to be where the records say it is.
- You turn a messy process into a clear, written one: the steps, the owner of each, the controls, and the exceptions nobody planned for.
- You’re comfortable with data. You can reconcile two sets of records in a spreadsheet or in SQL, find the break and explain it.
- You know that behind every failed payment, stuck identity check or complaint there is a customer waiting, and you close each one properly.
- You take things from “we should probably” to done, and you bring the founder, engineers, partners and compliance with you. There is no operations team here yet, and you’ll help build it.
- You use AI tools every day to automate the repetitive parts of the job, and you know where their output needs checking.
- You keep clear records, because our principal firm and the FCA can ask to see them.
- You’re comfortable working on a product built around Christian values. You don’t need to share them.
Nice to have
- Experience with ISAs, GIAs or pensions: allowances, transfers and the HMRC rules that govern them.
- A working knowledge of the Consumer Duty, complaints handling, vulnerable customers and financial promotions.
- Experience with identity checks, anti-money-laundering controls, sanctions screening or financial crime risk ratings.
- Experience working with a custodian, an investment platform or a payments provider, including direct debits and open banking.
- Experience of an appointed representative arrangement, or of reporting to a principal firm.
- Experience setting up support and ticketing tools, or writing help content customers actually use.
- Experience in an early-stage company where you set the processes rather than follow them.
What we offer
A salary set by experience, and share options through an EMI scheme once our seed round closes. You can work remotely or in a hybrid pattern from anywhere in the UK. You’ll join a small team building Fygge from the beginning, with real ownership of how the product works and the chance to set the patterns the next hires follow.
How we hire
We keep it simple.
- A conversation with the founder and the CTO
- A short practical exercise built on a real Fygge problem
- A final conversation with the team
We’ll tell you where you stand after each step.
