The role

Join Fygge in building the revolutionary AI-enabled investing app that adapts to you. Built around your values, your goals and the way you think about money, we offer a first-of-its-kind investing experience tailored specifically to you.

We are underpinned by a simple theory of change and building towards just that: we believe that if you Understand what your money is doing, and you Align it with what you care most about, you can Achieve your financial goals, and Contribute to a brighter future for all. There is nothing more powerful than an idea that has met its time, and we think the era of the empowered retail investor is here. We need your help to unlock that power.

As one of our first hires, you will sit between the product, technology and regulated areas of the business. Your job will be varied, but at its heart, you will be working closely with the founding team to solve the real-world problems that lock so many people out of investing, as we work together to deliver a world-class investing app.

Your central focus will be the product itself: the customer app, the AI guide, the connection to the investment platform that holds our customers’ money, and the internal tools and reporting a regulated firm runs on. One week you might write the user stories and acceptance criteria for goal setting, the next you might collaborate with the design team on our new screens, or decide which analytics help us unlock the most valuable customer insights.

We are a small but growing team. At our core, we believe we have a responsibility to be optimistic for the future, and we are building something to realise exactly that. Our business and the investing we facilitate speak to the ancient Christian values of stewardship, wisdom, human dignity, responsibility and the common good. We want to re-enchant what it means to invest and tell the sort of story that gets you out of bed in the morning, charged by the day ahead.

What you’ll do

  • Own the product specification for launch: the journeys, user stories and acceptance criteria, starting with onboarding, the values profile and goal setting.
  • Turn our behavioural hypotheses into measures. Define the events, get them into the app, set the pass marks before each test, and report what the beta and the first year show.
  • Own the data that passes between Fygge and the investment platform: how accounts, portfolios and transactions map across, the daily reconciliation, and what happens when the two disagree.
  • Build the management information a regulated firm needs, from Consumer Duty outcome measures to the records our principal firm reviews.
  • Test what gets built. Write the test cases, run them, and sign each feature off against its acceptance criteria before a customer sees it.
  • Help evaluate the AI guide: the test sets, the review of its failures, and the rules for what it may and may not say.
  • Keep the plan honest. The roadmap, the decision log and the delivery board stay current, so everyone knows what is decided and what is not.

What you’ll bring

  • You’ve worked in product, business analysis, operations or engineering, and you’re the person who turns a messy problem into a clear specification: user stories, acceptance criteria, data flows and the edge cases everyone else missed.
  • You’re technical enough to read an API specification, write SQL against a real database, and follow what an engineer or an AI agent has built well enough to test it properly.
  • You care about the customer’s problem, and you measure whether you solved it. You define the event, build the funnel and read the result honestly, including when it says you were wrong.
  • You take things from “we should probably” to shipped, and you bring the founder, engineers, partners and compliance with you. There are no product managers here yet.
  • You use AI tools every day to prototype, analyse and write, and you know where they get things wrong.
  • You’re precise. A wrong figure on a screen in an investing app can harm a customer, and you check your work before anyone else has to.
  • You ask why, and you would rather simplify a design than add to it.
  • You’re comfortable working on a product built around Christian values. You don’t need to share them.

Nice to have

  • Experience in fintech, investing, pensions, payments or another regulated product, especially one built on a platform, custodian or banking API.
  • A working knowledge of the FCA rules that shape a product: the Consumer Duty, financial promotions, appropriateness and vulnerable customers.
  • Product analytics (PostHog, Mixpanel or similar) and experiment design.
  • Experience testing or evaluating AI features: prompts, retrieval, guardrails and evaluation sets.
  • 0→1 experience: you’ve taken a product, or a company, from a blank page to live users.
  • You’ve built and shipped software yourself, even if engineering is not your main job.
  • Experience running user research and usability tests, and working from Figma designs.
  • Experience choosing and managing suppliers: comparing vendors, reading contracts and service levels, and holding a partner to them.

What we offer

A salary of £50,000 to £65,000, depending on experience, and share options through an EMI scheme once our seed round closes. You can work remotely or in a hybrid pattern from anywhere in the UK. You’ll join a small team building Fygge from the beginning, with real ownership of how the product works and the chance to set the patterns the next hires follow.

How we hire

We keep it simple.

  1. A conversation with the founder and the CTO
  2. A short practical exercise built on a real Fygge problem
  3. A final conversation with the team

We’ll tell you where you stand after each step.
